Resting HR calculation

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi all,

I’m confused about how my Inspire HR is calculating my resting HR. I understood it took it from you’re sleeping HR and when you’re at rest. My sleeping HR has been tracked through the night and never peaked above 55 - yet this morning my resting HR is calculated to be 58. My resting HR has been going up steadily the last few days when my HR at sleep and when resting has both been lower - any one any ideas?

Thanks!

@SocialNutter It's nice to have you on board! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your resting heart rate calculation. Heart rate data from when you are sleeping and awake are used to calculate this as stated in the help article:

"Fitbit uses your heart-rate data from when you’re both awake and asleep to estimate your resting heart rate. For best results, wear your device to sleep."

You can read more about resting heart rate here. Regarding the increase you are seeing, things like coffee or caffeinated beverages, stress, and other factors may increase your heart rate so this may be affecting your resting heart rate (remember that also the heart rate when you are awake is taken into consideration). If you feel this is too sudden monitor your daily activity and food consumption. If you have any questions please consult a health professional.

Let me know how it goes.

just got my fitbit about 2 weeks ago. Last few days i noticed that my resting HR had increased steadily eventhough my daily activity is literally the same since the last 2 weeks (we are on control movement order due to covid19 and can’t leave home without valid reason). Didn't do anything for a few days (not working or doing any domestic work at all) but the number keep increasing. I previously used Charge for about 3 years before the tracker died and never had this problem or getting this high number before.
