Does the Inspire need a screen protector? Has anyone had issues with the screen? I just pre-ordered the Inspire.

I buy screen protectors as I'm overly protective. But as long as the device is not rubbing on anything it is really not needed
I should add I'm not buying one for this.

I've never bought a screen protector and never had an issue. I find the screen to be very durable.

I've never bought screen protectors. My Charge 3 and Versa both ended up scratched.
The Inspire doesn't seem to be made up of gorilla glass, it looks like the screen and the device itself are plastic.

I always use screen protectors and have never had a scratch on the screen of any of my fitbits. I use IQ Sheilds (wet install) easy to get on and durable. I have just ordered some for my Inspire (which I havent got yet!)

I didn't bother with my original Alta, which I bought cheaply second hand to see how much use I would get out of it, and found the screen scuffed really easily, and because the devices are quite thick so sort of stick out from your wrist a bit it's pretty easy to knock them.
So when I got a new Alta HR I got a screen protector and it has had a few marks itself so likely saved the device from them. With the screens being so small the protectors are both cheap and easy to install bubble free (I paid £3 for a pack of 6 wet install from Screen Knight), so I'll be getting some for the Inspire HR too when I change devices.

I ordered the IQ Shield from Amazon; waiting at home for me. I have a habit of hitting my Fitbit against stuff and scratching it. I had one on my Alta too
I installed the IQ Shield on my Inspire; fits perfectly. Under $8.00 on Amazon. Be sure to watch the install video; it's a wet install. I have used the same brand of screen protector for 3 years on my Alta.

Was looking for a good brand to buy so thanks! I’ve had mine for a week and just noticed a scratch. No idea how it happened either. Wasn’t there this AM and I’ve had a sweatshirt on all day. 😞

I was at my daughter's on Saturday and noticed a white mark on the screen of my Inspire; was not there when I looked at it when I left my house. Must have happened when I was playing with the dog. I gently used my fingernail to scrap the mark off the protector.

Would recommend getting a screen protector - my Inspire HR has 2 scratches on the screen after just 4 days of normal use (around the house/walks/runs)! Definitely not as durable as the Alta HR which didn't seem to damage nearly as easily.

I've found some third party protectors in the past. Best is a simple piece of scotch tape. Does makes the display more difficult to read in low light- but better than getting scratches. Though I have heard the Inspire has Gorilla glass; have not verified.

Is it best to get a stick on screen cover or a gel one that goes around it?

I bought the silicone gel type that totally covers my Inspire, as I like to garden and am a bit clumsy. The clear protectors (2pk) installed easily once I learned how to remove the wristbands. However, it's not the most attractive look for the Inspire, as mine are clear ( I saw some that were tinted different colors), so the watch face has a sort of cheaper plastic look. Also, if a drop of water gets under the gel cover, it makes the "touch" sensitivity not work, so I have learned through much practice to remove the bands much quicker (they must be removed to be able to dry the watch face and interior of the gel protector). That said, my Inspire watch face is still pristine and the gel protector has a few fine scratches on it after wearing for just 2 months. I think that if you are most concerned about looks, then go with the stick on screen protectors, but if protecting your Inspire is the main concern, the gel cover is a good choice.

i don't know if this affects you or not, but i found that my fitbit inspire scratches very easily. quite annoyed to be honest. my fitbit is only 20 days old and I've already scratched it.

I have a Fitbit Inspire HR. The screen is made only of black plastic and scratches very easily. Whilst the device is narrow, it stands up quite high from your wrist, and can in fact be uncomfortable until you get used to it. This also makes it prone to getting caught on things. For example it doesn't fit easily under a shirt cuff, whereas a normal watch does.
I love the device, but if it wasn't already covered in scratches I'd definitely fit a screen protector.
Fitbit - it's a shame you haven't used a more robust material as it makes the device vulnerable and cheap feeling.

Mine scratched very quickly and quite deeply. Not at all as durable as the Alta. I have now got a screen protector.
