Sleep tracking not working on Inspire 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The sleep tracking on my Inspire 2 worked wonderfully, however, now it is not working, at all.  Even when I manually turn it on, before bed, which I don't want to do.  Has something changed?  How can I get it working again?

Sleep not tracking since August 16th. What do I do? Tried resetting it til the smiley face appeared. Nothing.

I've seen something similar. After a good first year of sleep tracking, it's been intermittent. Some nights are good, some nights claim I did not wear the device, some nights show only an hour or two of sleep (quiting at some point in the night).

I've reset the device, I'm wearing it snug, there is no low battery, I've set it to "low sensitivity". None of that appears to make a difference. I suppose it could be a device failure but it's working otherwise so I wonder if it's software-related.

I used to have a sleep mode that I manually pressed once I was ready to sleep.  That function is no longer available on my Inspire 2 since they sent me a replacement. Please help!

Hi everyone.

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Inspire 2 before reaching out. Please confirm your Inspire 2 is not on clip mode by pressing and holding the button on your device, and tapping 'On Wrist' in case you need it. For more information, see How do I wear my Fitbit device?

With that in mind, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Yojana. What's kind of weird with my situation is that it's not consistent. Some nights it works and I'm not doing anything different that I know of. This is my last week:

I know this doesn't give you much to work with, but it appears there's some threshold of sleep that my device is no longer recognizing. It may be a sensor or it may be a software update that's happened in the last month or so (when I started experiencing the problem). Maybe you can ask your software engineers if they've made any changes recently. 🙂

I don't see the "on wrist" option on my device.  How do I find it?

@Bruce823 Thanks for sharing those details with us. Can you please confirm when this issue started?

@AASmith1975 You can find this information under "Inspire 2" > "Adjust Settings", here: How do I navigate my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

@YojanaFitbit The first night I had an issue was July 10. Then July 14. Both of these times my night's sleep was broken into two according to the watch. At some point I tighted my watch band another notch but I've continued to have 2-4 issues a week since then, some of them (as shown by my graphic above) showing absolutely no sleep for the night.
