Steps accuracy concern

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just received my fitbit inspire hr & it is not tracking steps correctly.  I have tested it several times by walking a hundred steps & then checking...each time it registers 10 - 15 steps less.  How do I correct this?

Hi @elenaruth, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for testing your device's accuracy. To better assist you with this situation, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check the information that's specified on our help article: How accurate are Fitbit devices? and let me know if the issue persists. You can also restart your Inspire HR to refresh its performance.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi! I bought mine yesterday and encountered the exactly opposite problem.

My Inspire HR is seriously over-counting my steps. I got 400 steps from a shower of 10 minutes, 200 steps from a sleep of 6 hours, and 400 steps from a 25 min drive.

I see that many users have this issue too and it’s kind of frustrating.

It happens every time I use it, starting with the first time. Today I counted my steps, did 15,000, my Fitbit showed 400 less. As the steps are not accurate, I wonder how accurate the mileage is also. It is also very difficult at times to start & stop it. Overall, I am not pleased with the device.

I’m having the same problem. I counted 100 steps and it tracked 20+. Can’t figure out what’s wrong with it
