My Inspire 2 is adding around 2,000 steps while I’m on the rowing machine for 30 minutes. Is there any way to edit (subtract) steps to make a correction?

Hi there, @RaleighDave. Welcome to the Community Forums. I'll be glad to answer your inquiry.
I'd like to mention that when a specific exercise is not available within the exercises we offer, we suggest to use "Workout". Once you finish the activity, you can rename the activity to "Rowing Machine". Note that the information to enter will change depending on the nature of the exercise. To give you an example, if you change from "Workout" to "Run", it won't remove the calories but will add distance as the main stat to be displayed, this happen depending of the activity you are categorizing. However, your the data already tracked will be still counted for your daily totals.
It's not possible to delete steps or floors, but you can achieve the same result by negating them. You can log a driving activity instead, for more information about how to do so check this help article: How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
Hope that helps.

@RaleighDave , the basic exercise unit for Fitbits - and really all similar watches - is steps. At heart it is a pedometer - although a very sophisticated one, and what it really wants to count is “steps”. If you think of these as “exercise units” you might feel happier...
The most common conundrum is for bicycles: as far as I can tell, the world is evenly divided: about half of Fitbit users seem to want to get equivalent “step” credit for biking and the other half is annoyed that the Fitbit counts “steps” when they are biking, not walking or running.
Unfortunately you cannot delete these rowing “steps” except by logging another activity during that time period. You can keep your record a bit more clear by logging your exercise as “rowing” so at least you know what you were really doing that day.
I am sorry not to have a better answer for you. Welcome to the forums!
