Steps doubling after syncing??

I just did over 10,000 steps for the first time in a while (recently had a baby) and was excited to log it in my app! But when I logged my 11k steps, a few minutes later it was showing 22k on my app as well as my fitbit?? I didn't add any exercise to the app myself, literally just synced the fitbit (Inspire HR). It did auto-log a walk which seemed accurate and does that most days so I don't think it could be related

When I click on the steps for today it seems to be showing the actual steps in the diagram thingie at the top but the count is still double what it should be and I can't edit or even delete it.

Is this a known fault? How do I fix it? I was so excited about my 11k but now it's just turned into nonsense.

Never mind, when I opened it and tried to sync it again (it was still showing 22k on app and device) it went back to the real number on app and device without any sort of explanation. It just came up with the congratulations message for reaching my goal again. I have no idea what on earth happened.
