Wearing Fitbit during MRI

Hey all

I accidentally wore my Fitbit inspire during an MRI and now it wont stick to the charger. It pushes away from it because the Fitbit has been magnetized. Since this happened a few months ago, I've been able to tie it to the charger to charge the battery and it worked but recently the battery died and it will no longer charge at all. Anyone have any tips that I could try to get it to charge again? Or to demagnetize the Fitbit?

Thanks in advance!

Oh no, @HarryHinkler ! I’m very surprised that the technician did not notice. S/he should have asked if you had any metal in or on your body. You are lucky you were not hurt. I cannot think of any way to fix your Inspire. Sorry.

Thanks Carol

They did mention to take anything metal off but I honestly forgot I was
wearing it, I never take it off. 🙄

HarryHinker - did you ever figure out how to get a charge again? I had an MRI today and forgot about mine too. The MRI was an upper body - so my Fitbit was not inside the MRI machine but it's now unable to charge with the charger - it repels it!!

Hi @ECI29 - It sounds like your Fitbit was demagnetized. The MRI machine is very powerful. Your device was too near it. When I used to get MRIs, I would put my purse, along with my phone and Fitbit, behind the technician’s protective wall. (I have too much metal in my body now so MRIs are out.)

Wifey bought herself a new one. We were able to get it to charge but had to
use an elastic to wrap it onto the charger and hold it there. Even with
getting it to charge, it didn't hold the charge for long.
