Hi there, my girlfriend's fit bit seems to be dying and I'd like to get her a replacement one for her birthday coming up, any ideas which model this is? I don't want to ask cause she'll know my intentions lol. Any help appreciated thanks. I'll leave the link below for some pictures.

Looks like it might be an Inspire. The clip does need to be bought separate.

And you need to buy the Non HR one as the HR model will not fit in the clip

If that is a clip in the one photo.

You could check the store and look at the pictures there as well

I think that is the Fitbit Alta, but it has been discontinued, though you might still be able to find it for sale on Amazon or elsewhere.

The logical replacement/upgrade would probably be the Inspire or Inspire HR.  It very close in size and shape, stylewise.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hello @RollinsPT and a warm welcome.  That model looks like an Alta, possibly with an accessory band that she bought.  You don't see it in the Fitbit store because the Inspire/Inspire HR kind of replaced the Alta/Alta HR.

So at first glance, the Inspire is the replacement for the Alta.  But this is where you can shine by thinking about a different model entirely.  I say this because IMHO, the plastic case of the Inspire/Inspire HR looks like a step down from the shiny metal Alta case.

The Alta is kind of a bare bones model.  Does your girlfriend work out and might want a model that has the Exercise app?  If she likes the thinner shape of the Alta, then a Charge 3 would be a good choice.  The Versa/Versa Lite have a bigger screen (she might not like the size) and I think the Versa screen is much easier to read in sunlight.

Do make sure that her phone is fully compatible

Which fitbit would you recommend all together? She mentioned she's not fussed on the big chunky ones (versa) I think it's called. Like what would the difference.be between charge 2 and charge 3? Do the versa ones come with more features? Sorry im completely clueless about these!

@RollinsPT   The Charge 2 was discontinued.  Also, the Versa was removed from the Fitbit store with the release of the Versa 2, but I'm sure it's available from an authorized retailer.

So now you get to decide among the Charge 3/Versa/Versa Lite/Versa 2.

I have a small wrist, but I still like any Versa over the Charge 3.

  • I think the screen is easier to read in sunlight
  • The stats that you swipe through can be customized on any Versa but not on the Charge 3.  For example, I only have what Fitbit calls the core stats and my Reminders to Move.  Many users are unhappy that the Charge 3 screen cannot be customized
  • My big complaint about the Versa is the bands are difficult to change

I think you should take a look at the Fitbit Store and you can do a side-by-side comparison.   I noticed that the Versa 2 is a little larger than the Versa/Versa Lite.

The Fitbit Store has a 45 day, no questions asked, return policy.  If you choose the Versa, get it from an authorized retailer (link at the bottom of the page).
