What is water lock and when to use it?

Take a hot tub every night. Is the Inspire 2 water proof at a shallow depth? What exacrly is water lock? None of my previous fitbits havbe had this feature

@knoctor   Fitbit's Help article specifically recommends against wearing any of their devices in a hot tub or sauna.

Hi @knoctor  look about half way down this page - click to read. It will explain it. Since you won't get steps in the hot tub, why not take that time to charge the device. It's the steam that might harm your Inspire 2.

Inspire devices are water-resistant to 50 meters.

 

Water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:

 

  • Dropping the device.
  • Exposing the device to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, or sunscreen.
  • Exposing the device to high-velocity water (for example, during water sports).
