Hi @Wonk  see Page 33 of the user manual - click to view - for environmental conditions. Why wear it in a hot tub? Just as we told you about bathing, why not charge the device while you enjoy your time in the tub.

There isn’t a charger in the locker

@Wonk  you don't get steps in a hot tub. Why risk it? The steam, heat, water - not always a good thing for the Fitbit. You can make up the few steps later.

Well, Odyssey13, I actually exercise in my hot tub. Water provides good resistance. I have barbell floats for upper body work and a noodle for leg and core work out. So that is why I want to know if I am going to ruin my fitbit by wearing it.

Hi @SunsetRunner  the user manual says it works to 133 degrees F. I'd take care to wipe it off well after your hot tub session. Being it's a wrist based device, I'm not sure how many steps you'll receive in the hot tub.

I wore mine in the hot tub and it stopped working.  Black screen.  I look it up on the internet and was able to reset it.  It took 5 tries. Then 2 hours later the battery low and then it died.  It wouldn’t charge at all.  I contacted customer support by chat and went through some fix’s, none worked.  I then got a reply the next day saying “Just to share with you, we don't recommend wearing the Fitbit device in a hot tub, due to the high temperature.

This issue isn't covered under Fitbit's limited warranty but may be covered by your Fitbit Protection Plan.”

how is something not “recommended” not covered by warranty.  I never read anywhere not to use in the hot tub.

Hi @Kittycat93111  the environmental information on page 33, as linked above, shows that you shouldn't be in temperatures above 113 degrees F because it won't work. There may not be specifically the phrase "do not use in the hot tub" but it probably wouldn't tell you not to wear it in below freezing temperatures, too. Sorry this happened to you. I tend to be more cautious with my Fitbit and don't wear it while showering. Sometimes there is nothing Fitbit can do when an issue isn't covered by the warranty.

My hotub was 100 degrees and it underwater for less than 5 minutes.  No where in the warranty does it say the hot tub would void the warranty.  The Fitbit person said they don’t recommend.   I can’t find the recommendation anywhere.

@Kittycat93111  it is written in this article - click to go there

"Can I wear my Fitbit device in the shower, hot tub, or sauna?

Even though it may be ok to shower with our water-resistant devices, not doing so reduces the potential for exposure to soaps, shampoos, and conditioners, which can cause long-term damage to your device and may cause skin irritation. We also don’t recommend wearing any of our devices in a hot tub or sauna."

@Kittycat93111   warranty information - click to read. It would probably be under the bit about accident or misuse
