new device doesn't start

We just recceived out new FIBIT INSPIRE HR.

the device is uploaded, the Smiley was shown but when swiping, the screen doesn't change; remains on the dotted Fibit screen. 

we downloaded the app but there is no connection made between the Smartphone and the app; although WIFI and bluetooth are switched on

@sylvia68 What do you mean by "the device is uploaded"?  Did you charge the new device and is that when you got the smiley face?  Also, what do you mean by "there is no connection made between the Smartphone and the app"?  The app is on your Smartphone, so I assume you really mean "there is no connection between the Fitbit and the app" running on your Smartphone?
