Could it be that your timezone is set incorrectly? You can check yours at https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile

Thank you for the reply.  All was well with the right hour time for a couple of weeks after I received the fitbit as a Mother's day gift, but then gained 7 hours over the correct number a couple of days ago.
