I woke up this morning to 30,000 steps taken on my Versa. According to the dashboard this occurred at around 6 am. I was still in bed and do not wear my Versa to bed. This is the second time my Versa has recorded incorrectly - two weeks ago it was 27,000 phantom steps at 7 am. Any idea what is causing this?

It happened this morning to me also.

Same here. I had 2 days last week with 20,000+ steps in one chunk. I restarted, uninstalled the app, no change. I connected support and they had me do a factory reset. Worked good for a couple days and then had 5,000 lump on Sunday. Versa was on the charger overnight and when I woke up it had 30,000 + on it already. I've emailed back support and they've asked for purchase history. Not looking good as mine is 2 years old.

Thanks for posting. I did a factory reset and made sure the latest update was installed when it happened two weeks ago. All was fine until yesterday. It's a mystery...

I did all those things and nothing changed. I found that odd. Mine is two years old also. Strange.

Same hapened to me last night. My Versa Lite recorded nearly 5000 steps in the middle of the night while at the same time it was recording that I was fast asleep.

I had received an update from support with a discount for a new one. When I pushed the issue of an explanation for the error I received another email with a link to "helpfully articles". None of these were close to the issue at hand. I had another day with a lump overnight step count and noticed on my phone notifications that there was a step pedometer in use (can't remember exact wording) from about the same time. I clicked on it and turned off that notification. Since then I've had no issues. Crossing my fingers that fixed it. Hope everyone else has some luck as well!

Thanks for posting. I will look at my phone for the pedometer. Since my steps were generated while I was still in bed, I doubt that's it, but everything is worth checking out!

It hasn't happened again but I also found my phone pedometer was linked. So have unpaired it.

I am getting this using the mobile app only. It seems to correct itself later but not sure why it happens to begin with.
