3rd Time A (Dead) Charm?

OK.  This has gotten beyond frustrating.  I've only had this Versa for a few years, but this is the third time it's crapped out on me.  For some reason today, it keeps trying to restart.  When I look at the screen, I occasionally get the logo while other times I get the main screen (with the wrong time) and it's all locked up.  I've tried the holding the button to restart, and it does the same thing.  I've tried synching it to my phone, and nada.  Any other suggestions or is this thing just a doorstop at this point?

Hi, @Trekscribbler , it sounds like it has got its knickers thoroughly in a twist.  And I don’t think it would make a very good doorstop...  If it were mine, since the restarting is not helping, I think I would let the battery die completely and then I would restart, try to sync, and see how it goes.

There is also a factory reset option, but that is pretty drastic and can go wrong, so I would try the restart from completely dead first.

You say that you have had it “a couple of years” so it is unlikely to be covered by warranty, but if you get nowhere getting it to work properly again then do get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.Fitbit.com.  They may be able to help.

Well, I did the whole "forget this device" and reinstall step, and it's finally stopped resetting, but it won't complete a sync and the screen stays locked on the main stuff.  It just won't complete that last step in the sync process and then update the time, open up the screens, etc.  No, it's not under FitBit warranty but I have an extended warranty with one of their approved vendors.  My issue is that this is the third time in probably three years, and I wanted to know if anyone else had any advice OR suggestions: I'm not very likely to buy Fitbit the next time as this one craps out at least once a year at this point.  Is that common / uncommon?

Hi @Trekscribbler , as @Julia_G  says letting it run down is an option, also trying a full Shutdown from the watch Settings menu might help.

Changing the clockface may also help, as it can get updated and can have an issue if it's not the Fitbit one.

As for warranty it will still be covered as the watch was only released September 2020 so can't be 2 years old yet.

If you try a factory reset, from the watch Settings, about Versa 3 menu, and set it up again and it fails you can still take it back to where you bought it for replacement with a new one.
