My active minutes earlier today were more than 200 after a three and a bit hour walk/climb now it’s showing 11 minutes. Why?

It recorded over 200 active minutes I hill walked for 13km so I know it was earned. Today my watch has been on 0 active minutes all day so I believe it is a fault. What can I do?

It is great to see new faces around @Danilily25As you may have read in our article on the help article: What are active minutes, our algorithms detect subtle differences in exertion that may explain why two seemingly identical activities result in different active minute totals. For example if you took a brisk walk along the same route two days in a row, or even on the same day, differences in your speed and exertion levels (e.g. out of breath vs not out of breath, etc) will cause different active minute totals for the two activities. Also keep in mind that active minutes are only recorded for activities that last 10 minutes or longer.

Fitbit devices with a heart rate monitor, detect active minutes most accurately, since heart rate data allows us to better estimate caloric burn and, in turn, exercise intensity. If you're unhappy with your active minutes total, we recommend logging the activity manually. Manually logged activities override your tracker's data. Sometimes customers report a decrease in active minutes after logging an activity, which can occur if what your watch recorded was more intense than what you logged.

Thanks for your response @Danilily25!In this case, I would suggest you to try to restart your Versa. In order to do that, please follow these instructions:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If your Fitbit Versa doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

Use your Versa for another exercises as well and also keep an eye on the heart rate, 'cause this is related, so if this is not being well tracked, your active minutes won't be either.

I tried both solutions neither had 3 sessions of 1t or 20 minute aerobic activity that initially appeared on verse but then disappeared.  I've had the versa less than one month.  Seems to have a lot of issues

I am having the opposite problem. I was sitting at my desk yesterday all afternoon, with a few breaks to get up and walk to get water or use the restroom. My fitbit tracked that I had 300 active minutes and burned 6000 calories. I have tried resetting the device and it's still doing it. My heart rate obviously goes up when stressed at work, but that should not be counting as active minutes.
