So came to the forum to find ideas, Disabled Vet trying to figure out how to get my Versa to track my workouts. I powerwalks with a walker, etc.
The old Fitbit was a great training aid for my Tryathing (not sp. Trying is how I finish, 😉 so now that I starting to compete with other DAV I bought a Versa to watch the old heart rate while tracking, only to learn it doesn't track distance accurately for me.
Sock and pocket not an option. But holding on to my belief Fitbit will get this fixed.

Hi, @Crowfae, thank you for your service!
The Versa has two ways of calculating distance. It can either simply modify the number of steps by stride length and then calculate that way, or it can connect with the GPS on your phone -- it does not have its own GPS chip, so in that case it piggybacks off your phone's GPS.
Since you are using a walker, Fitbit's default calculations of your stride length are very likely to be wrong, so this may be the problem. There are instructions for measuring and entering a custom stride length here
(Apologies! posted too soon. Edited to add:)
If your stride length is reasonably consistent, and the Fitbit is accurately counting your steps, that should work pretty well.
The other method, involving using your phone's GPS is explained here

I have adapted my stride. The directions were for Blaze, trying to figure how to do it with Versa.
Thanks for input.
