Navigation in general requires a way to get out of the mode you are in, back to some outer level.
At the moment, the 'back' button on the left of the watch serves that function without a corresponding on-screen swipe gesture.
That's fine if you like pressing buttons, but generally it is possible to navigate using on-screen gestures, with the one exception of a gesture that replicates the function of the 'back' button. Its absence is an anomaly that needs fixing.
I propose you support (say) a diagonal swipe from top right to bottom left for 'back'.

Totally agree, particularly useful when the Versa is on charge. If you where to set up a suggestion using the link provided above, i would add my vote!
