Adding steps when syncing

I glanced down at my Versa lite and I was happily on 6000 steps after a little walk went to sync it with my phone and all of a sudden I’m on 10000 steps without even moving! Any ideas how to fix this issue? It’s not the first time this has happened it’s happened 3 times this week now thanks

It’s happened again, 3000 worth of steps have been added onto my steps! So annoying
