Advice on getting a fitbit

So I have had a fitbit flex for the longest time but I find it hard just having a tracker that tells you how many steps you have taken, I want something that can tell me the time, play music so I can leave my phone at home but still be able to answer someones texts. This watch seems to be one of like two that has the text replying option. My only problem is that this watch looks to be large in size. I am a student and need something that won't be huge on my wrist so I can wear it comfortably everyday. If anyone would like to give me advice to help me pick which fitbit I should get, that would be fantastic.

Thanks for the help!

You'll still need your phone to answer texts I'm afraid. The notification feature works over bluetooth so your phone needs to be within about 20 feet for it to work.

You're right in that the "quick reply" feature is only available on the Versa and Ionic and only works with phones running Android 7 or later (it doesn't work at all with iPhones at the moment). It only allows replying with one of a few set replies - you can't write a text from scratch. There's some more information on it here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2344/

If size is important then the versa would definitely be better than the ionic but both are a big change from the flex which is tiny in comparison. Are you able to see a versa in a store before buying? Alternatively, if you were to buy from fitbit.com then they offer a 45 day return and refund should you find that you can't live with it.

You may also want to have a look through the manual for the versa as it does way more than the flex:

Just for completeness, here the ionic manual: https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_ionic_en_US.pdf
