Alexa on Fitbit Versa 2

Hi everyone,

I currently do not own a Fitbit Versa 2 but I'm interested in the integration with Alexa and would like to check it out. However, I'm having an incredibly hard time finding precise information about the following:

  • A "comprehensive list" of the things that you can ask Alexa to do on the watch.
  • The "additional Alexa skills" that you can get on the watch by installing the Alexa app on the phone.
  • Important things that you can normally do with Alexa in other devices, that you can't really do on the watch, regardless of whether the Alexa app is installed on your phone or not.

So the Versa 2 shipped apparently a couple of days ago, and I'm curious to see if any Versa 2 users out there can help me out to check if this feature is really worth it.

@Lufalulz The most useful Alexa feature to me is the abilty to reply to messages (any messages) using voice. I became one of these people who talk to their watches. 😄 The voice recognition is great and the mic sensitivity on Versa as well. You can also ask or usual stuff like what's the weather or your agenda (for that you will need to link alexa account with your google or outlook accounts - done within alexa app). You can take a look at alexa skill store on Amazon to see what skills people create (to be installed via Alexa app), just be mindful that Alexa skills are geo-restricted. This is imposed by Amazon and it means that skills available in the US may not be available in Canada or UK. Fitbit have started rolling out Fitbit skill - one can ask Alexa about their stats by saying Alexa, how am I doing (or sth like that). Currently, it's available for the Amazon users in the US and UK. Canada is supposed to get in somewhere around November. Fitbit also is planning on rolling out an interesting feature - one will be able to start the workout using voice - Alexa, start my run, etc. 🙂
