How can I set my fitbit to auto pause when in an exercise mode? When I have it on bike mode every time I stop the time clock continues which lowers my avg speed.

Hello @Roberta10, welcome to the Community Forums! It's a pleasure to assist you today.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this inconvenience and how many times since then? Does this occur with the bike exercise mode only or with other exercises as well? Have you tried to track your bike activity using our SmartTrack feature? In the meantime I receive your answers, please try the following steps:

  1. For Fitbit Versa, press and hold the back and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

Don't hesitate to ask me any additional questions you may have, I'll be waiting for your reply.

It does not auto pause in any of the exercise modes. Unless I don't know
how to set it up to pause when I stop briefly. Then when my stats transfer
over to Strava my average pace is very slow 🙄.
For example, biking I usually use a Garmin Edge 25 on my bike which
notifies Strava. With the Garmin a 40 mile ride I might stop at stop signs,
regroup, take a break for coffee....and since Garmin auto pauses my average
posted on Strava is 15 to 16mph. Sometimes I forget the Garmin so put the
Fitbit on Bike and my avg on Strava is around 10mph depending on how long
we stop for a break. That does not look good on Strava! 😉
Also, when walking/running with dog stopping to play frisbee, throw stick,
lowers avg pace.
I know I could pause it, but then I usually forget to restart it.
Of course the only exercise modes I would want auto pause is ride, run, and
walk where I and others are focusing on average mph or pace.
Is this a feature that already exists on Fitbit?
I have the Strava app on my Fitbit. Should I just use that for running and
biking?
I think I may have done that when I had an Ionic.

Thanks,
Roberta
