Hi @bobstevens1  these devices are set to automatically sync when there is new data to upload - usually about twenty minutes. You can also make it sync on your app, if you want or need to.

Hello @bobstevens1

Open your Fitbit App, tap your profile picture then scroll down an tap Versa 3. Now scroll down and you will see a sync now button.
You can also manually sync by simply swiping your Fitbit App download with your finger then release. There used to be a function called “all day sync that could be enabled but it has been removed for quite some time now. I believe it has to do with assistance in not causing your battery to not drain to quickly

😃I hope this answers your question. Please let me know

Thanks. What I’m interested in is the app syncing on its own without
opening it. Maybe every half hour for example. --

I don’t believe it’s possible @bobstevens1 Data automatically syncs to the Fitbit app throughout the day. Each time you open the Fitbit app, your device syncs automatically when it's nearby.

@bobstevens1 it's supposed to auto sync every twenty minutes or when there is new activity to upload to the Fitbit servers. It should be working. If you have problems, the first thing to do is restart the device. It can't hurt to reboot your phone at times, too.
