BB PRIV and Versa 2

Hello Fitbit Co.,

I bought a Fitbit Versa 2 for my father for Christmas. He has a BB PRIV. I am noticing that this is not compatible now. Considering both BB and Fitbit have been around for a long time, why hasn’t Fitbit made it so that these are not compatible yet?!? Seriously, we are entering 2020....at this point in time I’m fairly sure the tech is there to complete this!! Now what do I do with this gift for my father?! Please advise if this is changing anytime soon - seems like you would be losing a great deal of money and business by not having the compatibility issues resolved.

@CGrimaldi2275 Welcome! It's great to see you around! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your father's Versa 2 not being compatible with his phone. As you mentioned, the phone doesn't show as compatible but that doesn’t mean it won’t work it just means that it hasn’t been tested by our team. You can try the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.
