Biking exercise fix needed

Got myself a new versa. When cycling the last 4 times the connected GPS is way of. Some scenario's; less KM than my polar watch, distance x2, half map on the activities. Can this be fixed, when you choose not to fit a gps in the device, to sell up other devices, do get your software right. This is basic stuff, when to expect a software update? Please no replies that i have to turn of my Wi-Fi and other semi-solutions. Thanks, been with fitbit since the beginning but this product can and must be much better! More people are complaining about this i have noticed. Do you guys acknowledge this issue? And will there be something done? Best regards, ruben

As a Fitbit user, your asking the community of Fitbit users for help. I have not had any issues with this on the Android S8 phone. Without knowing what phone you have I can not speak for that phone. 

You say the distance is way off but have not said anything about the map produced. Does this map look correct? 

BTW Fitbit has had two models with GPS built in the discontinued Surge and now the Ionic. 

Fitbit's decision to leave the GPS out of the Versa was to keep the size down and because users did not want a built in GPS. 

Yes I understand a GPS may be able to be added to the Versa without much of an increase but then the antenna will be smaller and we will leave issues getting a GPS lock. 

From what I understand, some Android phones do need a network connection, cell or Wi-Fi, to get the GPS started. Once started this network can be shut off. 

What does the Fitbit recorded map look like. This could be a clue to what you see.

using an Android samsung s7 edge. The map is the last 3 times stopped around half way from what was the total ride. Thanks for your reply.

So the problem may not be that distance is reporters wrong, but that the Versa looses connection with the phones location services. 

I find on the Samsung G8 that clearing cache helps some here, but the cause might be where the phone is in relation to the tracker.

Running today was also to difficult for the versa, whole period i had my phone close to the watch. Very disappointing... charge 2 was way better with this.
