I purchased a Versa 2 specifically for the SpO2 feature. I received my new fit bit last night. Device has latest firmware (at least it said it installed latest when starting up). My fit bit app has the latest update available installed:
In the gallery there is only one SpO2 clock face available to me. I click on it and it says it is unavailable to install.
health metrics only tracks with the clock face installed. ALL information on versa 2 from their website says this IS an available feature.
many suggestions before I send it back?
yes I have updated my app and restarted the device and gone through set up twice.

UPDATE: I’m leaving my post up because someone else may find it useful.
After receiving a response on community forums from another user- although brand new - my firmware was the original.
on my THIRD attempt with customer support chat, accolades to Daisylen. She checked and let me know that while this is a new device and start up- the device does continue to do background updating for up to 48 hours. Sync your device and app often during this time (more often means background updates quicker). Once it is complete you receive a notice to I stall the new firmware update. So hopefully within 48 hours this issue is resolved. If not - I will update this post again (as I will send this versa 2 packing)

@Rnn - thanks for posting, that is the normal procedure for receiving updates and it will come eventually.
What is a problem is that new watches are supposed to load the latest firmware during setup, and for you and may be many others that process seems not to be working anymore.

Update as of July 11/22- right around 24 hours.
received the necessary update to install. Now these features are available.
I appreciate the info to get me on the right track @Guy_
It seems Fitbit could avoid some customer frustration by just providing information such as “please allow up to 48 hours for all necessary updates to be provided to install all features”.

Thanks for the info, I'm glad your phone finally updated. Hopefully mine will do the same today.
