I received my Versa last weekend. The distances it's been tracking are completely wonky. My average stride length with my Blaze was 27.3. I have it on my dominant hand, with that sensitivity chosen, and have the stride length set automatically.
Over the past six days, my avg stride lengths have been 19.8, 36.4, 34.7, 33.6, 42.3 and 45.4. I've turned the Versa off and on a couple of times, altho I haven't done a factory reset. The steps are a bit off but not as bad as the distances. I should have around 3.75 miles logged right now (distance has actually been measured) and it says I've done 6.8 miles. As I'm doing a year-long challenge to complete 2,018 miles by years' end, having the miles wrong is screwing up my total.
Any suggestions on how to fix this or should I just return and exchange it? Thanks for any help.

I’m having the same issue. I try to do 10 miles a day and the steps to do that vary from about 21-24000. I have restarted and reset my Versa

How do you know what stride length FitBit is using? Where do I find this?

I find it on the Fitbit app, upper right hand corner (Accounts). Then scroll down to Advanced Settings and Stride Length should be the last one listed.

I have mine on Set Automatically. Otherwise, the values listed are those I manually entered previously. I don't see where it lists what FitBit has calculated. I'm on Android.

The nerd in me created a spreadsheet with all the stats from 01Mar until yesterday and the number that was listed was pretty much my average. I don't think I manually entered them but I could be wrong.

Is it possible that your Versa is mis-counting steps that you then calculate as incorrect stride length based on the known distance you traveled? I feel like my Versa is more sensitive to steps than my Charge2 was. I'm not sure which one is more correct. If I walk and count and wait sufficiently for the tracker to catch up, I get an accurate count. But overall, each hour and each day it seems like I accumulate more steps more easily with my Versa.

My distance randomly does this after I sync. Steps are fine, but somehow adds on anther .5 miles or so of distance so nothing matches up. Not sure what's going on.

I ended up exchanging mine for a new one and I haven't had any problems since.

Mine is doing the same thing but only when I sync. Did you find a solution or end up exchanging it? It only started doing this a few days ago. I did try restarting the Versa & my iPad. Turning on & off Bluetooth but nothing has worked so far.

Exchange. Canceled all accounts and Reloaded and restart and bluetooth and wifi on and off and I dance around a fire and sprinkle fairy dust and more ... DONE!!!! This VERSA is unstable and inconsistant. Garmin, Wahoo, Samsung ... a cyclist, runner and swimmer. Used FitBit and FitBit2 ... no prob. All the other gear I use no prob .... UNTIL VERSA. I have 2 as gifts to adult children and taking all three (4 if you consider I exchanged mine - of course takes a full day to 'download' updates etc.) My daily 4.5+ mile measured courses I have done for years, on the Versa, come up anywhere from 1.5 to 7 miles. Who knows. Now i carry Strava on phone to ensure I get location, mapping, altitude gain etc. VERSA IS NOT READY and is UNSTABE. It this is someones first tracker I feel sorry for them. I literally have NEVER had issue with any geo location tracker in my fitness career. I spent DAYS troubleshooting, researching, and trying to MAKE Versa work - it is a waste!

Did anyone manage to solve this?
My Versa is randomly adding around 0.5-0.8 of a mile every time I manually sync after exercise. I have screenshots before and after the sync taken in the same minute showing steps, calories etc all the same but the distance has gone up drastically. Only happens with a manual sync after exercise. Big as this can be several times a day it’s frustrating as the mileage is way off. Customer Services have been great but deny there’s anyone else with the same problem, so they’re going to exchange - I just hope the next one isn’t the same. .

I am having issues tracking distance on the Versa when in Treadmill mode. It is tracking it way less in distance than the treadmills I run on. They can't all be wrong! I am about 400-600 metres out of sync. When I run outside and use GPS tracking, this seems to track the correct distance.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get around this- my fitbit versa is 15 months old now so doubtful I can exchange at this late stage!

@Aoif162 Are you using the exercise shortcut Treadmill? If you use Walk, it is assuming that you are outside and gaining actual distance. Treadmill will use your estimated Stride Length (based on you height and gender) and calculate an assumed distance based on the number of steps you take.
It's also important to let your Versa arm swing on the treadmill rather than hold on. Your Versa will miss "steps" when your arm is stationary. These lost steps won't be included when your distance is calculated.
BTW, you can set your actual stride length if you wish for both walking and running in the Fitbit app.
