Calories burned

I have a fit bit versa and wear it when i exercise however like most it does not give accurate calories burned so i usually dont record my exercises through it. I am just about to go through a challenge and need to be able to accurately record calories and will be using myfitness pal syncing to fitbit. My question is if i manually record the exercise using the correct calories burned from my strap but wear my watch when i exercise, even though it is not recording it as an exercise it is going to pick up on the increased heart rate and therefore adjust my calories burned to reflect. Then when i add in the details for the workout through myfitnesspal its going to be a double up to some degree. Is my only option to not wear my watch when i exercise to ensure i get the correct information? Alternatively, if i track a workout can i adjust the calories burned through fitbit? Help help help please!
