Calories from exercise inconsistent

What gives?

A few weeks ago my only exercise was steps. I walked 9000+ steps and burnt 174 calories.

Today as my only excerise I have walked 12000+ steps and my calories was -30.

It seemed that every day where steps are my only exercise they are calculated as -30. This change seemed to happen on 1 June without me changing or adjusting any settings.

Any ideas?

@jeane99 calories are calculated based on your heart rate. Does it seem like your heart rate is being detected accurately?

Another thing to check is whether your height and weight are correct in the Fitbit mobile app. Those are also used to calculate calories. I'm sure you didn't change them but they can just change on their own somehow.

It's a good thought however checking my heart rate readings, they haven't changed over that period.
