Calories inflated

The past few days my calories for my work out are about 4x what the usually are.  Heart rate also seems elevated.  Is there something wrong with the platform?

I notice the same.. During a normal working day on the office I’m in the fatburn zone all the time.. I already restarted several times in the hope to fix it.. 😐

@Linfon85 @dlknyc Please take some screenshots of your daily heartrate recordings in Fitbit app and post here. Also, please tap on Settings on your Versa, scroll down to Heart rate and toggle ON/OFF/ON with a reboot inbetween. To reboot your tracker please press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes.

Same problem with my tracker. In December it was all OK but according to FB I spent 4h daily in fat burn zone in my desk job .There are quite a few people complaining about it. Maybe it's something to do with the algorithms if there's been an update.

Also, resetting didn't help. I've just put my tracker away until the pandemic of inflated calories dies out itself..

@izza Hmm honestly it doesnt look terrible. Fat burn will be anything above 90 and if you want to smash your computer while doing your job, that could definitely elevate it above your resting HR. My results are not much different when working. The question is how's your heart rate when you're relaxed, sitting and reading book etc? Dec 28 doesnt look that bad either.

I don't really get that stressed as I do creative work with PC making educational materials. Other times I teach in college. Are you suggesting anxiety burns calories? 🙂

My RHR is usually around 50-55.

The problem is that my calorie burn on my no exercise + minimum moving day is extraordinary. Screenshot_20190112-113646.png

I only exercised on Monday and Tuesday (adds can 150 kcal) with 10k steps (lots of brisk walking).  Wednesday Thursday spent @ work not doing more than 7k steps.

If burning 2800 doing nothing was true I'd be an athlete. Before on days like this it said I'd burn max 1800 which sounds all right.

At this stage I can't take anything fitbit says seriously. It's a shame.

@izza Oh you wouldn't believe how many calories on can burn at the desk. 😛 hehe But, I am looking at this data and it's not that off. Srsly. I do not know your profile but just looking at your picture, I would guesstimate your BMR to be around 1500-1700. That's just the calories you burn for breathing, pumping blood, your brain to function, etc. When you're at rest. So... unlikely that you would burn only 1800 daily (unless you're sick in bed). I could see how 7000 kcal can put you around 2500 or so. This kinda corresponds to what I see (and have seen with all my trackers). One needs to remember that those calories are not only Active calories but totals (BMR included). But, having said that, if you really think these number are way off, there are a few things you can try before contacting Customer Support for a replacement:

1. Open Settings on your Versa, go to heart rate and toggle ON/OFF/ON with a reboot of the tracker in-between (press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes)

2. Try performing a factory reset. This will wipe your Versa, so please sync first. You will also need to delete your tracker from the Fitbit account (in the Fitbit mobile app) and your Paired Devices list in your phone Bluetooth settings. You can perform factory reset by going to Settings on your Versa, scrolling down to About and tapping Factory Reset. Once Versa resets to factory defaults, you will need to set it up again by adding it as a new device in the Fitbit mobile app. Good luck!
