Can't set up WhatsApp notifications on my new Versa 3

I received my Versa 3 yesterday and have spent hours trying to get it to accept calls texts & WhatsApp notifications. There isn’t a WhatsApp access on the Fitbit app.
I’ve been on YouTube and every single forum but to no avail. Everything I have tried has failed to achieve my notifications outcome. Even “Versa 3 Controls” in Bluetooth app won’t stay connected. Hate it and want to return it.

@Katto1 I'm sorry to hear you had to return your Versa 4. I understand how you guys must have felt after all the steps you tried to receive notifications on the Versa 3. Thank you so much for your feedback regarding your experience in setting up notifications.

Regarding your inquiry, Versa 3, Versa 4, Sense, and Sense 2 are the only Fitbit devices that will show the Controls on the Bluetooth section. More information can be found here How do I take on-wrist phone calls with my Fitbit smartwatch?

The Fitbit app has changed its design recently, that would explain you were seeing different layouts compared to the one you had before. Click here for more information on iOS and here for Android.

I'll be around if there's anything I can do for you!

Hello there, @Katto1. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble trying to set up WhatsApp notifications on your new Versa 3. I appreciate you've taken the time to troubleshoot this issue before posting here, I understand how you must be feeling. I'll do my best to help you!

Please note that since you're setting up WhatsApp notification, you'll need to receive a message from the app desired in order for your app to show it as an option in your Fitbit notification's section. For example, tell someone to send you a WhatsApp, then check your Fitbit app and you'll see that WhatsApp is already an option to be selected.

For more information, see How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

Regarding the Versa 3 Controls, be aware that they might be listed as “Not Connected” in the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone. When you receive a phone call, the controls automatically reconnect. This feature requires more frequent charging.

Let me know if you need further help.

Hi, thank you for getting back to me. I’ve returned the Fitbit as it just wasn’t worth the hours of grief we (myself & my husband) suffered trying to get the messages to come through.
My Son even tried via FaceTime to help but to no avail (he has the Versa 2 & said there wasn’t a Versa Controls section in Bluetooth) his seemed much easier to connect. I’ve got a feeling also, that the Fitbit app wasn’t helping. It was the latest one but on all the YouTube videos, it was different layout to one I had. The old one gave you list of options of different companies/people you could toggle to accept calls from? Mine only gave text message or email.

Anyway, I’ll maybe get a basic one next time.

Kind Regards,
Katto 1
