Can the Versa Lite get a data plan?

So I’m thinking about getting a Fitbit Versa Lite, but I only have an iPod touch 5. If my iPod isn’t connected to the internet, it can’t get notifications. Is there a data plan where the Versa Lite can share data with the iPod? Or does the iPod have to be connected to WiFi?

I'm not understanding you @Ugly_Derpapus 

Your versa communicates through Bluetooth to the phone or IPad. Then the IPad needs to send this info on to the Fitbit servers through some type of Internet connection. 

Therefore the iPod needs to be connected to WiFi or a cellular network. 

The versa lite does not have either ability.
