I just want to know if you can set a heart rate alert like the Apple watch for high and low heart rates

No, you are not able to do that.

With the Versa you can pick a certain clock face like the medic alert face and in settings you can set HR alerts.

Thank you I will look into the versa, I'm looking or one because my husband needs to keep his hear rate under 130 bpm due to damage from a silent heart attack.

Is the alert face free or pay a one-time fee?

Does this actually have an alarm or vibrate if you drop below or above a set bpm ? I've looked at the manual and instructions but I can't find where it says it has this feature.

I am also interested in this. I would like to be able to when I'm working out alert myself if my heart rate drops below a certain level?

@KareKare if this is a serious medical condition then DO NOT USE Fitbit devices for such purpose. There are too many factors affecting readings and your husband may not even be aware his HR went already above specified limit. I will give you example. During tough workout my Ionic sometimes shows me 60bpm where I am already well above 150bpm. You can't rely on any of such devices to provide medical accuracy and in more serious cases it may be dangerous.

Dear jsr184 His cardiologist has told him to use his fitbit to help monitor this. Since you aren't a Doctor, Please Don't give others medical advice. Thanks 🙂

@KareKare as you noticed I am not a person with medical background and my advice was purely technical ( which is my background ) and based on knowledge of how the optical HR works. I am absolutely fine if accuracy of measurements doesn't matter and if Fitbit was recommended by the cardiologist that is even better. I apologise if my response felt intrusive.
