Cannot pair Versa 2 with new iPhone 16 Pro

I just upgraded from iPhone 12 Mini to 16 Pro today.  I am not able to pair my Versa 2 to my new phone.   Watch has 86% charge.

  • I removed the device from my old phone in the Fitbit app. 
  • I removed the watch from my old phone's bluetooth pairings & turned off bluetooth. 
  • I have forced closed Fitbit app on new phone. 
  • I have restarted watch.
  • I have restarted new phone.
  • I have removed all other bluetooth pairings from new phone. 
  • I have turned bluetooth off and back on.  

What am I missing?
