Cannot unlock unpaired Fitbit Versa

Hi, could someone please help me to unlock my Versa? I have tried every tip on the Fitbit community forum, with no effect.

What happened is as follows:

  1. I discovered my Versa locked, probably because something had touched the screen too many times. The only response I could get from the Versa is “Unlock with Your Phone”
  2. I tried to disable the lock through the app, first by disabling locking (which failed to connect) and then resetting the PIN (again, failed to connect)
  3. Some of the tips on the forum suggest a reset through the menus, but obviously I can’t get to these screens because of the lock message…
  4. Syncing was working at this time so there was a connection of sorts
  5. I tried the two-button reset but had the same problem when the Versa restarted
  6. I tried the three-button reset in a number of ways, but in all cases the device just restarted and reverted to the “Unlock on Your Phone” message
    • Holding all three buttons down for 1 minute
    • Holding all three buttons down until the logo has appeared/disappeared, then release the bottom right button and keep holding the other two for a while (a couple of minutes)
    • Holding all three buttons down until the logo has appeared/disappeared a second time, then release the bottom right button and keep holding the other two for a while
  7. There is a tip on the forum to disable Fitbit Pay or delete the associated credit card but this isn’t set up for my Versa
  8. I also restarted my phone numerous times, deleted the device from Bluetooth and re-added it, but every time I got the same message
  9. As a last resort I deleted the device from the Fitbit app and Bluetooth, restarted both the phone and Versa, and then tried to re-add it. The device was found by the app which asked me to enter the 4 digit PIN displayed on the Versa screen. I checked the screen and couldn’t see the PIN because of the “Unlock with Your Phone” message…

So, the Versa is now not paired with anything, is locked, and will not respond to a three-button reset.

Please help!

@SunsetRunner "As a last resort I deleted the device from the Fitbit app" - I am afraid you will need to contact Customer Support and ship your device to Fitbit. If you are not able to perform a 3-button factory reset, there is no way of unlocking the device since you removed it from your account. Unfortunately. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Deleating the device from bluetooth is a good idea, and a necessary step if a factory reset was done, or if the tracker was removed from the Fitbit account.

Hopefully the Versa has not been removed from the account,  in that doing so will prevent thre user from unlocking their tracker,  and a factory test will need to be done to clear the lock code.

If Fitbit pay owner set up then the is no reason to have the lock set.

Is the tracker still connected to your Fitbit account?
