Just got the notification to update my firmware for my Fitbit versa 3 so it doesn't overheat and its not even updating. It just stayed stuck on "Searching for Wi-Fi" for like 40 to 45 minutes and then gave me an error saying it couldn't find Wi-Fi. This has happened a few times, perhaps 3 or 4. I can't even switch my clock screen to anything else either which is really annoy.

You can check this help article which provides troubleshooting to get your Versa 3 connected to the WiFi and then attempt to install the update one more time.

Hi i am also having an issue with my Versa 3 wont update with this silly firmware update. I got the notification last week and tried too update. It starts too update and then a red x appears on my versa screen? i have tried all diffrent methods i have seen online too try and fix my versa but so far nothing has worked. It really annoying as im not able too use my versa properly with the stupid notificatation as the clock and have too keep changing it back but then its changed back to the update clock like 10 mins later! This is starting too get very frustrating.
I have restarted my fitbit too facotry settings twice, aswell as removed the app from my phone turned my phone off and back on too install everything fresh and still nothing is working.

I am having the same problem. It does not find my Wi-Fi network. When I put it in manually with PW it just searches.
My VERSA 3 tells me to update the firmware on my iphone APP but I cannot even access that. Please help ASAP!

In the fitbit app, you need to add a wifi network to your versa (use a yt tutorial for that) then be in range of your router and try to update the watch

I haven't received any notifications, either for updates or hot battery, should I?
