Cardio in the night?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've noticed that my heart rate tracker is picking up some strange readings over night. I don't wear my Versa at night, it's usually sat on my bedside table - which is why these readings are so strange.

My routine is very regimented on a day to day basis, so seeing these changes in my graphs was fairly obvious. I've attached one below so that you can see. Between midnight and about 5am my versa thinks I'm intermittently doing cardio on Monday night.

I know the watch isn't on my wrist at the time, and I'm fairly certain my furniture doesn't shift around in the night.

Is this a glitch? How do I fix it? Many Thanks! Screenshot_20190123-185318.jpg

Be sure it's not sitting somewhere subject to vibrations, such as on a table near a fan.

Hi Johnny, Thank you for responding to me.

I've tried it in a few different locations during the night and sadly it's still making up it's own heart rate. Below is the graph from today. As before, I don't wear it at night and got out of bed at approximately 7am this morning. According to my Versa I've been up all night working out!

I've reached out to FitBit support on twitter to see if this needs to be returned/replaced. I've tried resetting the versa and matching it to my phone again, cleaning the sensor, and wearing it differently during the day. Still no joy. Frustrating as I really loved this device!

Hello love,

My Fitbit Versa was doing the exact same thing (along with a number of other glitches). I don't like to wear my Fitbit at night when I sleep, so I always take it off before I go lay down. I noticed that my Versa was doing the exact same thing yours is doing. I would look at my app, and it was logging BMP in the upper 170's when I wasn't even wearing it; so, I remember one night I noticed via my app that the Fitbit was saying my heartbeat was 145 bpm (when I wasn't even wearing it), so I went to pick it up and look at it, and low and behold, it even said on the device itself that my bpm was 145.
I began doing research online, and found several "methods" to fix it. I attempted to lay it down in different places (the floor, the table, in my car, on top of blankets, towels,); I tried everywhere. I also read to try and lay it down on the opposite side (with the sensor facing up), but that also did not work, and it still continued to log false bpm at night.
With that going on, and a number of other problems (and vast research on the internet, talking to my friends who owned a Versa and returned it, etc) I finally concluded that the Versa has many bugs.
I returned it, and am back to wearing my reliable Charge 2.

I'm really sorry that you're having these issues; I was very disappointed when my Versa started acting up because it is such a beautiful product.

Not the ideal solution but you can just turn heart rate off from Settings on the tracker itself.

I myself always sleep with it on to get sleep data, so have no experience with it off.
