Changing strap

Hi I tried to change my strap on fit bit and the wee silver bit has now broken off and stuck inside the strap part so I can’t get a new strap to go on. Has anyone else experienced this? I also contacted Fitbit support last week via email and have had no response back. Can anyone advise?

Im sending my new one back, versa 2. My pointer nail broke and is now bleeding. Thinking of saving up for an apple watch.  After reading some questions and complaints the band changing is not worth the sress. Also, it seems after a year everyone seems to encounter an issue with all styles. I'm thinking its a a sales tatic!
