Changing to large strap

Just opened and setting up my versa. Changing the short strap to the large one. It will not stay on. I can put the short one back on easily. Almost like the large one just doesn't fit. Been trying this for an hour now. Any suggestions?

@Chief37 does the smaller one fit without issues? Is it the pin or band itself?

I know this is an old tread but I've the same situation.  Brand new Versa and I'm unable to get the pin for the large strap to engage with the holes in the versa body.

 

The pin fits - I tried it without the strap, as an exercise.  The small strap can be removed and reattached no problem, done it multiple times. Also tried the pin that was used with the small strap no problem.

 

My only conclusion is that the silicone for the large strap is oversized just enough for the strap to not fit.  I read posts about trimming the strap with an exacto knife but with my luck, that will void the warranty, so back it goes to Fitbit.
