Yesterday Monday 08/10/2018 my Fitbit app did an update, since the update my connected gps keeps dropping in and out. Really frustrating!

Hello @DJM1969, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience. Keep in mind that environmental factors including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and even thick cloud cover can interfere with your phone’s ability to connect to GPS satellites.

Now, let's check the following requirements for your Versa to maintain a connection with your phone during your workout:

  • Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and your tracker is connected (paired) to the phone. To confirm, go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and make sure you see Versa on the list of devices.
  • You selected an exercise type from the Exercise app that uses connected GPS. To check on Versa, tap the gear icon on any exercise and check that GPS is listed and set to On
  • Your phone is within about 30 feet of your device.
  • Your phone can identify your location and can track your location when you're not using Wi-Fi. For more information on which phone settings you may need to adjust, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

After verifying all the requirements, try using GPS again by following the instructions in How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device? If you're still having difficulty, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Open the Fitbit app to reestablish a connection with your tracker.
  2. Reboot your phone.
  3. Restart your Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

I hope this can be helpful, give these steps a try and let me know the outcome!

Hi Marco

I think I have sorted it thank you, I deleted the Fitbit app, shut my phone
down restarted it and then downloaded the app again. Went through the set
up procedures i.e. allow notifications etc. I also shut down my Versa and
restarted it. Since I have done this the Versa and phone seem to be
connecting and staying connected. It has been ok for a couple of days, so
fingers crossed it is ok.

Thanks Damian
