DEATH OF MY VERSA!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I woke up this morning to a completely unresponsive Versa. No light flashing on the back, no sign of life, no charging potential. Has anyone else had this happen? I got it at the beginning of May through Amazon and have had absolutely no problems with it. About to contact customer service.

In all fairness I'd suggest a little more patience with them. Clearly there have been a number of faulty units judging by the number of community entries, but with respect to the dire situation any volume of faulty units will require some time to respond to and handle. I'm in the same bucket and about to return mine so I can't respond on a personal level from start to finish yet but I'd reinforce the idea of kindness.

Same thing happened to me. First the touch screen wouldn’t work, then 2 hours later the screen went black. Then the whole thing just stopped working. I contacted  customer service, and they said since it’s past 365 days, they can’t do anything. They offered me 25% discount to buy a new one. I bought the versa for 200$ last year. It decided to die couple of months after warranty expired.

If they are gonna be making tracking watches they should fix their warranty or the watches. Buying a 200$ watch every year is dumb.

Ive been in the Fitbit family since 2016. I guess now isn’t time to find a different tracker.

Same thing happened to me. I bought my versa in April 2018. In January 2019, it had died. They replaced it and I got it in February. It’s now September and the replacement has also died and since the warranty is expired they won’t do anything to help me. 25% offer is a joke. I’m not spending that kind of money to have them continue to die. Fix your watches Fitbit and help your customers who have been loyal even through all the issues!

Same happened to me. I got my versa on May and one year later ( when the warranty had expired) it just died. I contacted versa, and they just offered me a 25%. I told them I bought my watch to last and not to buy a new one the year afterward. And their watch should last more then 1 year since it’s a $200 watch. It’s not cheap. They said that they are trying their best to better their watch and try to make them last longer. But since my warranty has expired the only thing they can offer me is a 25% discount. I told them to take the 25% and shove it where the sun don’t shine. And I’m not gonna buy from them until they fix their problem.

Dont forget to try plugging charger into laptop and wait maybe this will help you also. Mine was just factory settings saying to download app in different languages like when u first get it. After syncing to laptop i was able to get it working normal..even charging lasted longer than usual.

My versa is completely dead and has been for a week.  I try putting it on the charger and nothing happens other than it gets warm to the touch.  Mine was a Christmas gift for 2018, so its just a little more than a year old.  Very frustrating.

Have you tried to reset it - I just did this with mine after finding this community.  It is in the charger, charging right now.  I bought a new charger thinking that might be the issue but is wasn't.  I held down all three buttons and after maybe 15 seconds the logo came on.  I put it into the charger and it started charging.  My battery was reading "empty" on the fitbit app prior to me doing this.   I know it has been a month since you posted, just thought I would share what worked for me.

It was weird cuz first the touch screen wouldn’t work. The next day the screen when black and the day after that it just stopped.

I've had mine for year and half now and has been failing for the past couple of months.  Would charge but not completely, had to put a rubber band around the charger and watch to make the connections.  Bought a new charger, that didn't work.  It's dead.  It just flashes 0%, won't connect at all. Very disappointed with it.

Well I am glad that worked for you! There were a few times itvwoukd charge
up only to lose charge in under an hour and then eventually completely
crash. I had two Versa's and both were the same. I switched to a versa 2
and it died as well after 6 months fortunately the place in bought it had a
warranty and I got to replace it. Not sure what's happened to Fitbit I've
been a customer for years and have never seen such product issues before.
