Wondering about the integration status of Dexcom to my Fitbit Versa? News about that this cooperation was initiated was released last spring, so when will I be able to see my bg-levels in my Versa?

Where did you read this? Currently, there is no glucose log available here. There used to be a manual log but that was eliminated some years ago.

@SunsetRunner  It's for a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor implanted under the skin that sends out glucose levels via bluetooth to Dexcom's scanner.  Fitbit is supposed to be integrating to be able to receive the signal from the implanted Dexcom device.

But I haven't heard any update on this.  I doubt anyone here will know anything until it is announced that it is here.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I had forgotten all about this as it is well over a year old. I don't read that the Ionic will receive data directly from the the Dexcom device. There are several references to Android and iOS devices. What is more likely is that the apps would exchange info and once the Fitbit app has it the next sync would put it on the Ionic, (In a special clock face perhaps.) or maybe it is immediate at the time the 2 apps sync. Fitbit has never allowed a third party device to directly connect with one of it's trackers. In any event the how is not as important as the when.

Maybe someone can go ask the same question over at Dexcom?

Update: There is a little more recent info here. note the reference to the SDK which third party app developers use to integrate data with Fitbit.

Hey there,

I actually created a fitbit dexcom app and watch face to monitor your glucose levels. It works pretty well and people seem to be enjoying it.

I'm not associated with Dexcom, but in the time being it is something that you could use!

You can find it on my website: https://hunterwatchco.com/category/random/

I hope you like them!

does you app work only for Android. I tried looking for it on the Fitbit versa lite I bought for my daughter, it didn't come up so I went to your webpage and clicked on the link and it said that the app can not download on this device. I thought it might be because it's an iphone 6 and not an android. i hope not because an iwatch is not an option for us it is to expensive for and 8 year old.

Fitbit just got back to me and they updated the CGM watch face and app.  You should be able to install it on the Versa Lite now!

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey there,

So I actually had this issue with my watch the other day (wasn’t using one of my faces). Basically there are some hardware issues with Fitbit watches where sometimes they struggle to sync up to the phone. And since the Dexcom watchface/app rely heavily on syncing, this could be annoying.

The steps that I had to do to get my watch to sync back up were:

1. Turn off phone
2. Turn off watch
3. Turn them both back on
4. Change the watch face
5. Reinstall the one that wasn’t syncing.

That usually fixes it for me.

I tried downloading the app for my Fitbit Charge 3, but it says it's not available for my watch. Is it not compatible with this model? I am also from the UK, not sure if it has anything to do with it. Thanks

Fitbit said it would be released in 2018, they never did and never said why or when again. Some created a face integration app, but that’s not from Fitbit. Has anyone gotten any response from Fitbit on this or should we expect that only Apple and Android will work with Dexcom? Promised promises....
