We’ve been on a number of walks and both of us are wearing versas. But my partners distances is always further by a good 1/2KM when we’ve walked the same difference. My steps are higher but I’m 5’6 he’s 6’4. Anyone that can help?

Assuming you are not connecting to phone's GPS,

distance = number of steps times stride length.  If you know the distance, you can adjust stride length to get correct distance.  But without knowing distance, we don't know how much to adjust it by, or if the error is in your or partner's stride length, or both.

See Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
