Hello @Hanlie and welcome to the help forums. If you tap on the exercise app, tap on run, then the gear setting. You can tap on the Customize Stats and set what you want to see.

Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.
@Hanlie Which position did you put it in? The top stat and the bottom stat are set to one parameter. The middle stat is "swipable/tapable" while using the exercise app. You can set what you want to see if you swipe the screen while exercising.

@Hanlie I definitely see distance covered on mine when I start my run from the Versa. You can tap on the screen during the run to switch your stats around, from heart rate to steps to distance.
I have my Versa set so that my distance covered is always fixed at the top, time elapsed is at the bottom, and my pace is in the middle. But I can toggle through the stats available to show up in the middle if I want instead.
Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing? That might allow us to help you better.
