Do Carpal tunnel wrist supports damage the ability to swipe?

I have Carpal tunnel syndrome and I have to wear wrist supports at night which covers the clock face. I have had 3 Fitbits in less than 2 years which lost their ability to swipe. Could it be because of my wrist supports?
