Does Australian Standard Versa Have NFC?

Can anybody who has received a standard Versa in Australia confirm if it has NFC/Fitbit Pay? The Australian Fitbit website implies it does. However I was looking at display boxes in JB HiFi and Fitbit Pay was mentioned on the Special Edition box but not on the Standard box. The staff there said it did but they just looked at the website.

From the press release:

Fitbit Pay is available on Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Ionic: adidas edition and Fitbit Versa Special Edition in the Americas; and on all Fitbitsmartwatches in APAC and EMEA.

So, yes, standard and special editions will have NFC in Australia.

Regardless of region.  If it's not the special edition Versa, then it won't have the NFC wireless payment feature.  If, that's what you are referring to.  However, even if it's the special edition, it is only available in the US with US banks.  Have not read or heard about it being used by other banks outside the US.

Fitbit pay is available in many countries, including Australia. See https://www.fitbit.com/fitbit-pay/banks.

That would be a rather tall manufacturing order to have the Fitbit Pay only available in Special Edition Versa's in the Amercas, but available in both in regular and special editions in every other region.  I have my reservations.  I know the resellers here get their stocks from the US HQ.  And the US HQ gets their supply from China.  The logistics and manufacturing segregation to have batches on regular Versa's non Fitbit pay ready and Fitbit pay ready shipped to specific region alone is just not a sound business plan.  So, that's my two cents about it.

If you go to the respective Fitbit pages in different countries, they all state the same thing.  Fitbit Pay in SE Versa.

So the special version in Australia is coming with an additional woven band 🙏. I'm trying to figure out if the cheap one has nfc or not but no one seems to know.

There are a number of replies above confirming the standard ("cheap") Versa has NFC and Fitbit Pay. To add to the chorus, I have the standard Versa and can confirm it has Fitbit Pay and NFC. I use it a lot. I am in Australia.

Thank you so much for clearing that though, I even visited big w but they
were unsure of this and eventually you can't find a proper answer about
Australian fitbit. Much appreciated 👍

So just for those of us that are slow on the uptake and want to triple check this to shut up their ocd.... both the standard versa and the special edition can do fit pay in Australia? But the versa lite cannot?

the website had me convinced I had to buy the more expensive SE model if I wanted to use fitpay. Or have things changed since this thread was published?

i really wanted the colours of a Versa Lite but was going to get the SE to be able to use fitpay, but if I can use fitpay with the regular versa why would I pay an extra $50 (esp when I don’t like the SE band)

thanks for any feedback

In Australia the standard Versa has NFC for Fitbit Pay. The Versa lite does not.

Hi dear... In Australia both fitbit versa and versa SE use fitpay. But lite
edition doesn't. You are paying 50 bucks for band alone in case of versa.

I have a standard Fitbit Versa, and it does have NFC. Maybe they have changed them to include it now
