Does the Versa sync and receive Notifications without issues?

Hello All!,

So, I am thinking about purchasing a Versa today. I have a Blaze, but I have the most trouble with syncing and what not, that I just can't stand it anymore!

Does the Versa seem to be reliable when it comes to syncing and getting notifications? Have bugs been fixed? Any downsides?

Thanks Everyone!

I have a Versa and have no trouble at all syncing. What phone are you using? Mine (Samsung S8) is great (much better at syncing than my old S7), but I know there are more problems with some phones. I have never had a blaze, so cant compare, but the Versa is the best Fitbit I have owned. I also have no problems at all with notifications, but again, that is related more to the phone you are using than the tracker.

Honest review.. I have been an avid fitbit  user for over 6 years and  sadly I have to say that they dropped the ball with the versa.  I have the samsung s8 and constantly had to reboot or restart the versa. I also had to clear bluetooth cache, uninstall/ reinstall the app, log out  and it still barely synced, The versa would also reboot in the middle of exercises and lose your data.

I could have returned it but I know fitbit devices are quirky when they first come out so I was patient and believed that it would work out.  Its not the phone because my hubby has an s8 and a versa and he didn't start having issues until  the recent update. We've had our versa's almost 6 months and mine died last Thursday.(black/blank screen of death)

Reading the forums you'll find many post from users who have owned the device 4 months or more have had the same issue.  Customer service isnt what it used to be and more than likely if it breaks  you will have be without your fitbit  for 6 to 8 weeks while they "look" at it. I've yet to come across anyone who has had theirs repaired.  Some people get the run around and have to mail their fitbits in order to get a replacement . Others get replacements with no push back and no questions asked.   I wonder what their criteria is?  I had to push back to get a replacement.

Its very sad for me because I loved their products and was so excited for the versa.. I've had every model except the Ionic and  I was going to purchase the charge 3 as Christmas presents for my daughters. However I have no use for a company that does not stand behind its product. People should not have to push back for service. Its not your mommas fitbit and in this case that's a bad thing. . Good luck in whatever you decide.

I recently switched from the charge 3 to Versa, since the charge 3 was quite buggy. Familiar problem for just launched Fitbit devices.

The versa is perfect, I have no issues whatsoever. Syncing and notifications, it’s all spot on. (Iphone 7)

only limitation is that the versa’s altitude sensor is te close to your arm, so it won’t always recognize stairs.

and it count steps and stairs when your biking or driving.

I have the versa and am so fed up with it not tracking correctly and no help from customer service.  I love having a Fitbit I started with the Alta hr then got the versa when it came out, it was great the first few months but now it doesn’t auto recognize exercise some days it does some it doesn’t—same exercise each time 🤷🏻‍:female_sign: Customer service first tells me they are working on it because other people are having the issue also and when I continue to ask for help fixing it they tell me to wear it on my other wrist??  I’m very disappointed with the versa.

I would strongly advise against it unless fitbit sorts it's act out. I have had a flex, charge HR 2 and now versa. While my versa worked well for a few months, it is now pretty much unusable. This latest OS update really stuffed it.

It is sad to see how fitbit has changed over the years. The quality of the app and support has dropped while the focus just seems to be on pushing out new hardware.

It's worth the money. The versa is by far the best fitbit I've ever owned. No trouble syncing or anything.

A quick update. I have managed to get the versa working again. Required a hard reset of the device and setup from scratch. Had to reinstall all the apps as well. It also finally updated to the newer OS version. Hopefully this isn't the norm for every update.
