Driving mode not overriding steps

Since the newest update when I'm riding horses it's counting all these extra steps, and normally I would enter a driving entry and it would zero out the steps, but keep my active minutes. Now it wont clear out the steps or anything. 

 

Is there a new way to get around all the steps? Even after I deleted the activity I have thousands of extra steps still counted.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. Have you tried to log this activity under "Horseback riding"? If you haven't, I recommend trying this and then see if the extra information goes away.
