Elevation in Fitbit app calculated wrong

The elevation graph for a circular run shows a crazy amount of elevation loss and irratic readings. The watch is performing fine and it must be software related since when the run syncs to Strava the chart displays exactly what I would expect. I have images to show and compare if needed but is there a setting I need to change or do Fitbit need to just fix this?

Here is an image comparing the same run in both apps. See how one shows a circular walk starting and ending at the se height as expected.

This is happening to me as well with my Fitbit Surge.  Has Fitbit responded to this inquiry?  Do they have a fix or an explanation for this? Do they even care?
