Email notification problem Fitbit versa

I am having troubles displaying email notifications from the Mail app on iphone to my Versa.

I have enabled the Mail app under the watch settings in the Fitbit app. I also have all mail notifications including banners enabled on my phone so my phone displays all mails on my screen. I have tried adding myself to the VIP list and mailing myself, then I get a notification on my Versa. All other mails don't get through. I have one gmail account and one Exchange account on my mail app and would like all notifications on my Versa watch.

Any suggestions?

Does Fitbit have permission in your notification center. 

I have no idea what this means but have seen many reports of this being an issue.
