The Connected GPS feature is a little problematic. It works quite well for me but there are many others on this forum who will attest that it doesn't work for them. Different phones? Locations? Not sure.
To increase your chances of success, make sure your Location Services are ON in your phone. For Android, use the Phone Only setting and not High Accuracy which causes the phone to continually scan for bluetooth and wifi signals to improve location accuracy. It seems to interfere with the bluetooth staying connected between the Versa and the phone. If you are Apple, make sure your location setting is Always so that if the phone sleeps the location services don't stop. Close all other apps running on your phone. If you want to listen to something on your phone, that's ok. It's not recommended to run a secondary GPS tracking app like Strava or MayMyRide, however, I've done it with success. It makes my phone get really hot and I've already lost one Samsung phone to overheating so I don't do it anymore. Make sure you have Connected GPS enabled for Bike. On the Versa, touch the gear icon and scroll down to Connected GPS and toggle ON. It will take 15-60 seconds to make the connection when starting the Bike exercise so patience is key. The "connecting" will change to "connected" and once you touch the little "Go" triangle the message at the top changes to accumulated milage. Assuming your phone is able to keep a GPS signal and your bluetooth between your Versa and your phone is good, you should be able to see a little map of your ride when you "Finish" the exercise and sync your phone.
